I am writing to you on behalf of my entire family.
We recently had booked my son Giancarlo’s wedding at Waters Edge. I frequent your back deck bar in the summer as I have a summer home in Ocean Gate for many years. I have always loved it. I was not too familiar with the inside restaurant.
In December, I was fortunate to be invited to a Christmas Party. I loved everything the food, the service, ambiance, etc. Well on short notice my son approached me about getting married and wanted it to happen ASAP. My daughter in law who is from Russia fell in love with the Jersey Shore and begged us to do a wedding down there she wanted to simply get married on the Ocean Gate Beach and end it at that, but being from the city and so used to having these big extravaganzas, I wouldn’t think of it, since we are so used to places like El Caribe, Russo’s on the Bay, West Mount Country Club, in some instances destination parties, I said no way we have to have a party.
On panic mode, I ran to your Waters Edge hoping to get some dates to choose from. Well with only a couple of dates available, only giving us weeks to put this together, how lucky were we to have Kevin Ansbro and Jacquelyn there to help. They went out of their way to accommodate our every need from setting up a tasting, beautiful room and food set up, being accommodating to our DJ’s, pianist, and also recommending a hotel which worked out perfect they were dolls over there too (Jennifer and all the girls)
I wanted no skimping on the food, and only the best. That’s just what we got. WE WERE AMAZED!!!! With all the critics we had as guests, it was a total success. Not only was there an abundance of food it was absolutely delicious, every single item. The hall (restaurant) area was set up superbly, from the table placement, to the bar area, and the outside area. The service was impeccable, your waitresses, bar tenders, and bus services were the cream of the crop. I have to give full credit to Kevin and Jacquelyn for excellence in running the show. Everything they did, they did with a smile. I am still receiving phone calls from guests about the great time and how this was pulled off, on such short notice. This couldn’t have been done without your crew.
We had many people from the city as well as the surrounding areas of NJ, and a few big wigs fly in from Japan and Europe, all of which were in awe, and gave high praise for your restaurant. As far as my son Giancarlo, his wife Rita, and our entire family feel, it was even better than anything we could have done in New York. We were so very happy and thought you should know it.

The wedding was perfect, not a hitch. It looked positively gorgeous and you and everyone else were so accommodating to me and our guests. What a wonderful attitude everyone had and it made for the nicest day ever. We were all so pleased! Seriously, you couldn’t have done any more to make us love you! Thank you for caring as much as you did!!!!!! It showed! The food was scrumptious! Enough so that my sisters from out of state asked for doggie bags! I cringed but the staff didn’t blink an eye. My wife and I planned our 50th wedding anniversary event for 80 persons for a sit-down dinner.
Waters Edge offered a unique setting with the water view and especially the sunset view. The parking is adequate and a handicap ramp fitted our needs. We were provided with directions, which we passed along to our guests and everyone made it without incident even though some traveled a distance.
Jacquelyn, the banquet manager, provided everything we needed; she arranged the dining room seating to our specifications, providing extra tables for the cake, name tags and a basket for congratulations cards. Our musician entertainer was provided with great space adjacent to the dance floor. A recommended bakery delivered our cake and Waters Edge took care of the rest. A podium and microphone was provided.
The choice of menu was superb. Dinner was served by ample servers on time and piping hot as requested. Our guests were blown away with the portions and quality of the food. As time progressed, we realized three hours was not going to be enough for us to greet each and every guest and say a few words. We asked for an extra hour and it was granted; just a little extra that Waters Edge provided made our event a resounding success.
